We are home!

It was quite the adventure! Our last morning, headed out, we met a woman at our hotel who helped us find our way around the Athen's airport. Our last meal in Greece was at a restaurant right on the water. The flights were smooth (thank you!) and other than leaving our ipads at phoenix security uneventful. (John went back and got them.). I am sitting here drinking tea, waiting for Zoë to come home.

We are spending the night outside athens, Peri's Hotel. We asked about lunch within walking distance. He recommended a place on the waterfront that offered door to door service.  Perfect last meal in Greece. We fly out at 7:25 am Thursday on British Airlines to London.    Slow travel, just our speed.

I missed the counting the 1st round at 7:10. The second round at 8:03 numbered 31. The chanting is lovely. The time changed here this weekend-fall back.

Been busy entertaining ourselves. I am sure details are missing, here is the general gist. Walked around the town, locked gates and all. Bought major souvenir, a raku pelican. It is gorgeous. Took a cruise around the port of Tolo, Nafplio, and Port Chelli, to Hydra Island and Spetses Island. Think Larkspur ferry from 8:45am until 8pm, with 3 and 1 hour stops on the islands. We can say we have cruised the Mediterranean and North Atlantic. Today was a holiday and very crowded. We had a preview of a marching band go right by our house. UnTours had offered a "cooking class" at a local organic farm, Nafplio BioFarm. Tour of the olive and orange orchards complete with chickens. Dinner was a vegetarian dish created with fresh ingredients from that farm or other local bio farms. Stuffed tomatoes and green peppers, zucchini rolls, and tzatziki (yogurt with assorted herbs that is served with everything.) Dessert was yogurt and marmalade. Excellent adventure. W
