Southern Utah

We stayed at Kodocrome State Park  for two nights and got an early start for Bryce Canyon. All the. Campsites were first come first serve...and we were able to snag one!

The Scenic Drive was worth the price of admission. The place was flooded with tourists and parking was hard to come by. Parked at the very end we hiked the Bristle Cone Trail. Along the way there were what looked like burn piles. I was able to confirm they were for fuels reduction to be burned in the winter when there is snow on t.he ground.

The next day we headed south west through Red Canyon. I had made reservations at Coral Pink Sands SP for 3 nights.  It is an off road vehicle use Park. Considering that, it is really quiet here in the CG.

A short hike from our site is an observation platform overlooking the dunes. There was enough wind overnight to smooth out the tracks made the day before. We are here 2 more nights and we head to CA and Yosemite.  It has been warmer the farther south we go. Sitting in the sun with no wind is nice.
